A Summer Update from The DSM Group

The DSM Group Summer UpdateI can’t believe it’s July already. I'm not just saying that either, time is really moving quickly here in 2013. I feel like I am going to blink and it’s going to be Halloween. The good thing about the summer months though is slowing down a bit with friends and family.

At The DSM Group, we just had our first annual pig roast (no joke, the crew and some friends and family demolished a 40 lb. pig last Friday…along with burgers, dogs and a slew of desserts). It was nice to be able to hang outside of the office with everyone and their families.

We live Monday through Friday in the “what”, “when” and “how” of our lives. The reality is that we need to remember the “why” more often and just enjoy the ride.

Getting back to DSM, we’ve been growing tremendously since we sent out our last newsletter on April 11. First the internal memos; we’ve welcomed three new “Goonies” to the crew: first, our Content Marketing Manager Dan Reyes, second our Lead Designer Jason Moya and third (another freshly graduated draft pick from Ramapo College) our super-intern turned Inbound Account Manager-in-training Nick Schreck. These fine lads are taking it upon themselves to not only shift the balance of power from our female brethren (Christine, Dayna and Jess, you still rule the roost) but are working hard to produce great work for our clients.

Thus far, these guys have taken on every project with killer passion and drive and we’re looking forward to them being a part of our family for years to come. We also welcome Kelsey BaRoss, who has joined DSM for a summer internship. Kelsey is a student at Towson University and has a passion for writing and animals, and she clearly has a strong connection already with Fritz and Ella.

The DSM Group Welcomes New Clients

On the account side, the summer was once a slower workflow period for us. That, my friends, went out the window this year. From my previous paragraph about “the lads” coming on board, it was for good reason. The workload since January has been staggering with the addition of a stable of new clients that are as diverse as the personalities at DSM. These clients include:

  • Smolin Lupin – A top-12 accounting firm located in New Jersey and Florida that specializes in transportation and logistics (including marine transportation), ERISA, Real Estate, Construction, Distribution, Professionals (mostly law firms and healthcare), Manufacturing, Education (public and private). On the consulting side, they handle litigation, business valuation and general business consulting. They also have a top-notch tax department.
  • Stone Industries – One of New Jersey’s largest producers of crushed stone and asphalt located in Haledon, Franklin, Sparta and Ringwood.
  • Fontanella, Benevento, Galluccio & Smith – A law firm located in Totowa, New Jersey that is consistently recognized for its skilled and thorough team by the courts, adversaries and its clients.
  • Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgeons, LLC – Dr. Rick Winters and Dr. Stephanie Cohen’s plastic surgery practice that focuses on a core belief that state-of-the-art technology can still be warm; that firm, expert advice can still be compassionate and caring; that a doctor can be assured and decisive without being intimidating.
  • Flyte Tyme Worldwide Transportation – Is a full-service corporate travel management company located in Mahwah, NJ. They are available in 350 cities worldwide and can provide a myriad of services for the business traveler to accommodate the busiest of schedules.

Last but definitely not least (only because they are our newest client):

  • FOR Solutions, LLC - Designs and manufactures state-of-the-art, rotary drum food scraps composting systems that are redefining the industry. Their mission is to change the way people view food scraps from looking at them as waste (garbage, trash, refuse) to viewing them as renewable and recoverable natural resources.

So, as you can see, we’ve been a bit nutty over at 599 Franklin Ave. It’s been quite a ride over the last few months but we’re taking on each challenge just like we did six years ago when we started this crazy gig. The great thing about our team - they put their passion into everything they do. We collectively feel that our client’s work is our work, both individually and as a group. It's really been special to see the growth and evolution the company takes on with each new employee and client. I never cease to be amazed at the crew we have put together. Special bunch…Continue to work hard and play hard my friends…you only get one journey.

Peace out,

D
