Best Pumpkin Patches in Northern New Jersey

best pumpkin picking nothern nj'

Tis the season for pumpkin spice everything! You can't turn the corner without seeing the typical picture on Instagram captioned, "Pumpkin Spice Latte #pumpkinlover".

We all know that the best place to go for a pumpkin spice latte is Starbucks and the best place to get a pumpkin donut is Dunkin Donuts. It's doubtful you would be able to pick your own pumpkins at either of these places (obviously).

Where do you go pumpkin picking in northern New Jersey?

There's a ton of places but you're probably looking for the best. Well we found 'em!

Check out the five best places to go pumpkin picking in New Jersey! Seriously... what would you do without us? (Probably be pumpkin-less).

Conklin Farm

Montville, NJ

Conklin Farm has everything to offer for the whole family! Open 7 days a week, you can choose from thousands of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes. Done pumpkin picking? Be daring and go through their corn maze or haunted hayride and see how long you last!

Their barn store provides painted pumpkins, Indian corn, scarecrows and whatever fall decorations you may need. But you can't leave without buying at least one (or all) of their homemade pies and donuts.

Secor Farms

Mahwah, NJ

If you're looking for a beautiful view while pumpkin picking, check out Secor Farms. Their hayride takes you on a scenic ride where you will pass their pond and willow trees to get to the pumpkin patch.

Once there, hang out under their rustic pergola or have a picnic. Too cold for a picnic? No worries. Go inside their indoor glass greenhouse to stay warm. The options are limitless. Oh, and of course there's a corn maze and petting zoo for all kinds of fun. And I can't forget the donuts, there are always donuts.

Horse Sleigh Farm

Washington, NJ

Horse Sleigh Farm offers you a very memorable experience by offering horse drawn carriage rides through half of their farm. Their pumpkin patch is over 20 acres, which you can explore to find the perfect pumpkin. All pumpkins at Horse Sleigh Farm are authentically grown and never imported.

Besides their pony rides, petting zoo, Fright Fest, and super cool Maze Runner themed corn maze, my favorite part of Horse Sleigh Farm is their outdoor game zone. They offer over 25 games to keep everyone active like mini golf, a small hay mountain, football toss, nerf targets and horseshoes.

Heaven Hill Farm

Vernon, NJ

This is probably the coolest, most intense pumpkin-picking farm I've ever seen. Heaven Hill Farm goes all out when it comes to pumpkin season time. Participate in their Great Pumpkin Festival, which offers over 30 fun filled activities and carnival rides. Admission includes a hayride to the U-Pick Pumpkin Patch to find the perfect pumpkin for your family.

The fun doesn't end there though... Experience getting lost in the largest corn maze in northern New Jersey. You can participate in their costume contest where you can win prizes for the most original, prettiest, scariest and best overall costume. Also check out their trick-or-treat trail to have a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience.

I'm telling ya... this place is the place to be at this time of year.

Riamede Farm

Chester, NJ

Are you looking for a less chaotic and a more mellow pumpkin picking experience? I suggest you check out the first pick-your-own apple orchard in New Jersey. Riamede Farm is a peaceful and quiet apple orchard with a pumpkin field out back. They have no corn mazes, no moon bounces, no pony rides, just some good ol' pumpkin pickin'.

With hayrides offered to bring you to the pumpkin patch, you can cut your pumpkins right off the vine early in the season. This sounds like the perfect farm where you might actually be able to see the Great Pumpkin (but I'm not sure because Charlie Brown never did).
