While attending URI, I competed on the Men’s Rowing team for four years. One of the greatest lessons I learned from my time on the rowing team is that waking up at 4:45 am is not enjoyable in the slightest bit, especially in the harsh Rhode Island winters. But overall, it was totally worth it.
I was also a campus promoter for a Northeast-based company called MASS Electronic Dance Music Community. I was promoting for concerts throughout the Northeast (primarily Rhode Island), and it definitely had its perks. I got to meet Hardwell (the now #1 DJ in the world), so you can say I’m sort of a big deal.
I am passionate about working out, Dunkin Donuts coffee (sorry Starbucks lovers) and traveling. Although I never studied abroad during college, I was able to experience that feeling before going to college. I was an exchange student in Germany for three weeks going into my senior year of high school, which really sparked my interest for traveling and other cultures. Who knows, maybe I’ll even backpack the world!
I also know way too many movie quotes and often go into full conversations with my Dad using just movie quotes (it’s actually quite impressive, if I do say so myself).
Since I hail from Northern New Jersey, I am a huge New York Yankee fan, and yes, even when Derek Jeter is gone, I will still be a diehard fan. I enjoy my mother (and grandmothers) homemade Italian cooking, pizza and bagels, basically everything that makes New Jersey better than anywhere else.
I stumbled upon The DSM Group by the way of anyone over the age of 5 would do, I used Google. The professionalism of the website was an obvious attention-getter, but what really sold me was the fact that they have beer in the office. What could be better than that?!
I applied for an internship position and was thrilled when I received an email from Nick asking to come in for an interview. And as people say, the rest was history. I was given a position as a fall intern and I’ve been here ever since, a whole two days now.
I look forward to the next few months, broadening my knowledge in inbound marketing, and being taught from the professionals themselves. I also look forward to being a contributing part of this company, and not just the “errand boy” getting coffee, even though there is plenty here in the office.
